A Case of True Littre´s Hernia

Abstract
|
|
|
True Littre´s Hernia is very rare but important because of high rate of incarceration or strangulation.
It is almost impossible that it has been correctly diagnosed prior to operation. A case of incarcerated True Littre´s Hernia is presented.
The patient was 27 year-old male soldier and was admitted with severe pain and a mass in the Rt. groin.
On operation, incarcerated Meckle´s diverticulum was markedly distended and purplish in its colour, in the Rt. inguinal hernial sac.
The diverticulum resected with open method and also hernioplasty was made using McVay´s method.
Postoperative course was uneventful. Along with a case report, the history and terminology were reviewed.
